Introducing Darien

Darien West grew up in Portland, Oregon, where his earliest lessons in technology came from working in his father's company — a business built to open doors for minorities, particularly Black Americans, through contracts and employment on major public works projects. Later on, working for The Skanner Newsgroup's non-profit, The North Portland Multimedia Media Training Center as a video production trainer, is where he began his journey as a subject matter expert in technology. These formative experiences established a foundation of purpose, problem-solving, and a people focus that has never left him.

Today, based in Seattle, he works as a technology strategist, trainer, and creative problem-solver, bringing calm, clarity, and genuine follow-through to every challenge. His background spans high-pressure meetings/events Audio Visual support, hands-on technology training, video production, and systems improvement.

A musician, multimedia producer, and web developer along the way, Darien's creative instincts bring an added dimension to his technical work — weaving together design, rhythm, and connection in ways that make technology feel less like a tool and more like a familar language. Clients and students know him as someone who stays with the problem, teaches with patience, and makes complex things feel approachable.

Darien is committed to integrity, excellence, and deep engagement with the community he serves. He looks forward to streamling and optimizing AV processes, ensuring every experience — in the room or from a distance — feels seamless, meaningful, and alive.

"Darien is the type of technical person that keeps working and that doesn't quit and exactly the type I I would have hired while I was at Intel."
